 Sidcup, Kent: Beco’s solar division, BecoSolar - has successfully completed the installation of an 18.144kWp flat roof mounted, grid connected, solar electric generating system at Sidcup Leisure Centre. The system began exporting electricity to the national grid on 3rd August 2005, with the full approval of Western Power Distribution.
This clean, silent generator will produce in the region of 16,330 kWh per annum, and will negate the the production of over 9 tonnes of CO2 per year.
The solar array comprises 112 x Sharp ND162W solar modules held in using the Sol 50 mounting system on a custom made 'A' Frame. The modules are wired to 4 x Fronius IG 40 Inverters. The installation and commissioning was carried out over a period of 10 days by Beco’s own installation team, in conjunction with the main contractor, as part of the new build.
